Uniting for Ukraine

While news of Ukraine continues to fade into the background of mainstream news reports, Ukrainians still struggle to live pre-war lives.
According to a recent CNN poll, Americans’ support of the war in Ukraine continues to wane with only 45% who say Congress should authorize additional funding for the conflict while 55% are opposed.
Oleg has moved from his town into the city; his responsibilities and duties have changed dramatically.
David and I are in the midst of applying for Oleg’s mother to seek asylum here in the United States under the Uniting for Ukraine program. Natalie must now fill out her section of the I-134 application and then, we wait. Once she is (hopefully) approved, she’ll have 90 days to travel to the US.
At that point, David and I will help her search for employment, learn English, and, generally acclimate to life in America.
A daunting task, to be sure.
If you have furniture, home décor, or other items that you are not currently using, please consider holding onto them and donating to Natalie when she arrives.
I will update this post when we have news.
Glory to Ukraine!
